What lurks in the cold light and even colder darkness of winter?
Starvation, ghosts, bloodthirsty demons and dark magic.
One rash decision can lead to ruin or death.
To survive, sacrifices must be made. Lessons must be learned.
Winter holidays and religious fervor carry some through
…and others too far.
Love saves the lucky few and abandons the rest.

DESIDERIUM:

An ardent longing, as for something lost.

Do you yearn for the past?
A loved one lost?
Yesterday’s comforts?
A nostalgic youth?

Do you fight the present?
Endure the elements, brave the plague,
take a life to save another, a brother, or yourself?

Do you anticipate love, long for freedom or plot revenge?
In the end, our desires will make us… or break us.

Desiderium is a collection of short stories and poems written by established and emerging writers of Dublin Creative Writers.  Spanning a range of genres, styles and perspectives these works probe the depths of love and despair arising from unfettered longing in worlds both real and imagined.

Featuring authors: Marília Bonelli, A. Howitt, J. H. Schiller, Anne Johnston, Gabrielle Gold, J. Levesque, Autumn Shah, Thomas Brown, Cody Bok, Stephen Woodfall, V. George, L. H. Adamkiewicz & J. Powell Ogden

WHAT IS A PROMISE?
A promise is a wedding ring, a symbol of forever love, or a lighthouse guiding ships to shore. A promise is a deal with the Devil, a prepper's safehouse in the country, or a commitment to care for a beloved pet. When you break a promise, something precious dies. Something…or someone.

Broken Promises is a collection of short stories by established and emerging authors from Dublin Creative Writers (
available on Amazon). Contributors were given only the premise of "broken promises" to play with, but common and unexpected themes emerged: marriage and infidelity, death and morality, myths, and the perilous sea. In this collection you will find flash fiction, short stories, and a novelette, written in a wide range of genres and styles from fantasy to suspense to historical fiction. You will encounter starlets, monsters, pirates, and ghosts. It is our hope that you'll laugh, gasp, snicker, and reflect as you read Broken Promises: An Anthology.

Featured Authors: A. Howitt, J. Levesque, Thomas Brown, J.H. Schiller, Autumn Shah, Anne Johnston, Tom MacMahon, George Mason, J. Powell Ogden
